BIAB nails in Amsterdam
BIAB — builder gel in a bottle — is the treatment to book if you want your own nails to grow out strong rather than wear extensions. Simone applies it at Avalon Nailz in Amsterdam-Centrum.
BIAB is a flexible builder gel laid over the natural nail as a protective layer. It adds strength without adding much thickness, so a set reads as your own nails — just neater, and far less likely to split or peel.
It's the usual choice for anyone who bites, whose nails bend, or who simply doesn't want length. You can wear it as a bare overlay, a solid colour, a french tip, or with the same nail art as any other treatment.
Refills are the same price as a new set. If you'd rather have the old product removed and start fresh, that's €10 on top.
- Strengthens the natural nail instead of covering it
- No extensions, no added length unless you want it
- Refill every three to four weeks, same price as a new set
- Works with any of the nail-art tiers

Questions
What does BIAB cost in Amsterdam at Avalon Nailz?
BIAB at Avalon Nailz is €45 for a solid colour, €50 with a french tip or simple nail art, €55 for medium nail art and €60 for extreme nail art or freestyle. A refill costs the same as a new set; removal plus a new set is €10 extra.
What is the difference between BIAB and Gel-x?
BIAB is an overlay on your own nail and adds strength, not length. Gel-x is a soft gel tip that extends the nail. If you want longer nails, book Gel-x; if you want your own nails to grow out protected, book BIAB.
How often do BIAB nails need a refill?
Every three to four weeks for most people. The product itself lasts longer, but the grow-out line starts to show around then.
Can BIAB be removed at home?
It's better not to. BIAB is filed back and soaked off in the studio for €10; picking it off takes the top layer of the natural nail with it.
